The Championship Round

Here it is, the round we've been building up to. Who will be our "World's Favorite Detective"? Remember, it isn't greatest detective or most influential or highest selling...it's favorite. So, no one has to justify why they choose who they do. You just have to choose the detective that's your favorite. If I handed you two books, one with each detective, right this minute...and imagine it's each detective's BEST book, which would you want to read first? Or if you could only have one of those books, which would you want to have the most? Got your answer? Good! Vote!

Remember, voting will be open through Friday. Let's have a record turnout for this vote. Spread the word!

Voted. Easy call for me. Love both writers, but love one detective far, far more.

Well, Harry Bosh is a great detective, no doubt about it. But a great guy as well is Myron Bolitar (Harlan Coben). The thing is, he isn`t a detective, he is a sports agent and works as a detective by accident. So if it comes to detectives, Harry Bosh is my man! If it comes to characters, I would vote for Myron Bolitar, but only 51:49. But he isn`t in the race. Maybe, because he`s just a sports-agent....

Stefan, you are correct. We discussed at the beginning of the tournament that we had to have a way to reign in the thousands of options that could have been considered for the tournament. So the requirements were that all detectives had to be licensed in some way. So licensed P.I.s, sheriffs, cops, agents, etc. Myron is actually what's classified as an amateur sleuth.

An 'amateur sleuth' competition would also be very interesting; along with Bolitar you could have the likes of Miss Marple as well. And dozens of other great main characters...

Hello Jen, I'm from Engadine, NSW Australia. I love Michael Connelly Books and am currently reading Nine Dragons. Love Harry Bosch's character and I hope Michael gets to write many many more stories. I think Harry needs to get back with his beloved Eleanor, as he's not getting any younger, and he needs some stability and peace in his life! Thanks...
