National Audiobook Month and More!
Happy June! The nice weather had arrived in NE Ohio and I am a very happy camper. I see many days in the park with my audiobooks ahead. Speaking of audiobooks, today also kicks off the National Audiobook Month celebration. If you haven't had a chance to check out the Audiobook Community I talked about last Thursday, now's a great time to do it. They are giving away free downloads of short stories, sample chapters, and more. There are some opportunities to win audiobooks and lots of fun discussions. When you sign up, make sure you come chat with us in the favorite genre group. We have a crime fiction thread going that is a lot of fun.
If you're on Twitter, we're talking about audiobooks with the hashtag #JIAM. Share your favorites, what you're listening to right now, and be on the look out for giveaways.I already won an audiobook today Scratch that! I won TWO audiobooks today! Nice way to start this month of celebration, hopefully this doesn't exhaust my luck for the whole month. But above all, get caught listening this month! I'll have a fun audio to share with you on Thursday.
O.k., next fun and important tidbit relates to Michael Koryta. His new SO COLD THE RIVER comes out a week from today. Well, next Wednesday (June 9th) he will be doing a live chat on Little, Brown's channel of BlogTalkRadio. It will be held at 1:00p.m. (Eastern). If you'd like to call in with questions, you can do so at (646)378-0040. If you can't call in but you'd like to ask a question, email me by Thursday and I'll send in any questions I've received. And if you can't listen to the chat live, there will be an archived edition available about 30 minutes after the show concludes. This link should take you there, but obviously won't be live until the archive has been uploaded.
Also, those of you in my general neck of the woods, don't forget that Michael will be at Joseph Beth in Cleveland on June 17th at 7:00pm. And he will also be in Oakmont, PA at Mystery Lovers Bookshop June 19th at 10am. You need to reserve a spot for the June 19th event, so if you're interested in attending, call my friends over at Mystery Lovers and get your tickets! I want you all to make note that I'm telling you to go now. If you wait for another tour, this boy may be bigger than Patterson by then and impossible to see. GO. SEE. MICHAEL! In the interim, he's actually been posting things on his blog. The man just signed on for three more books with Little, Brown...you'd think he'd be hard at work on a book! Just kidding. His blog posts are fun. Check them out. I'll be reviewing SO COLD THE RIVER next week.
Last item of business. If you didn't notice it in my blog roll, then you must go pay my pal Craig a visit at Crime Watch. He's holding another international giveaway contest. You may need this contest to be international since Craig is "Down Under." He's offering readers a chance to check out some authentic "Kiwi Crime." So get your entries in!
Today I'm going to wish you a very happy LISTENING!
