A couple more of my favorites fell this week; how about yours? How are your brackets looking now? Very few of Round 2's contests were blow-outs. Alex Cross just barely made it past Tess Monaghan and Spenser just barely edged out his kin Jesse Stone. So Round 3 should be even more exciting. What do you think? For Round 3 should I post a mid-week standing or leave you in the dark until the end? Let me know what you'd prefer in the comments.
See you back here Monday for the opening of Round 3 voting! Happy Reading!

I did pretty well, I think (I can't find my brackets file). But a couple of these made me want to toss my cookies.
Updates? I don't need to see them, I can wait for the final results, but other readers might want to see how the voting is going so they can round up voters to the cause (it'll be a microcosm of the health care vote!).
I'd love to see the standings! I think that's part of the fun. :) But if you don't do it, that's okay too. I'm loving this!
This was fun to see. Can't wait till the next round of voting. Thanks, Jen.
I went 13-3. w00t! :-)
In the dark! No 'special push' campaigning allowed. ;-)
I vote for updates!
I lost some of my faves and I am devastated that Tess M. is now out of the running. waaahhhh.
Several more of my favorites bit the dust, but just enough survived to give me hope. ;)
Please don't post mid-week standings. I think the vote is fairer when folks don't have the chance to drum up support for their personal favorites.
Spenser would kick the crap out of Jesse Stone, and if he didn't Hawk would. I'm wondering if Tom Selleck doesn't have a lot to do with why that vote was so close...
I'm 9-7 this round, but at least 3 of my final 4 are still in it. (My 4th was taken in the 1st round. D'oh!)
I vote for "in the dark" to quote APMonkey.
Nero Wolfe is gone? that is awful.
and I will miss Jesse as well.
I'm with Caite. I wanted Nero Wolfe and John Ceepak. Darn! But, I have to say I was never a fan of Jesse Stone. Spencer all the way for me!
I vote no updates.
Sigh. More faves fall by the wayside, including one of my 'top 3' overall faves from the past decade.
This is a tough tourney, and some of these brackets are particulary tough (e.g. Banks, Thorne, Wolfe and Bosch all together, so only one of those four gets through to the Top 8 - ouch), especially compared to some other parts of the tourney. There's certainly a few that have been knocked out who perhaps deserved to go further than some still in there, but didn't because of who they came up against early on. But hey, them's the breaks...
Awesome competition/tourney Jen. And it's getting a lot of people chatting and thinking about crime fiction, which is great.
I vote NO for the middle of the week.
Found my brackets and I was 13-3, with my Final Four intact.
One of my final four is gone, but my top selection is still there. This is great fun.
I'd rather wait and see the final results, but I don't shake presents either.
Grumble. There go some more of my favorites. But I still have a few champions in the race. I vote against updates - I think it keeps the field level. Thanks - this is fun (if nerve-wracking).
PS Another no updates vote from me as well.
Doh! No Virgil Flowers! But my man Harry's still in it! Great contest.
Phillip Marlowe against Spenser? That is soo unfair,I was torn but Spenser is still my guy. Now,if Spenser ended up against Harry Bosche it would be a real struggle for me.Please don't do updates.
