Round 3 - World's Favorite Detective

Now the match-ups get very interesting! The outcomes of this Round will determine the "Elite Eight" and those that entered the bracket contest will be paying close attention to see who of their predictions survive this round. I will not be sharing progress at mid-week (by popular vote), so if you have detectives you want to see move on, round up your posse and get the votes in. The voting booth will be open through Friday (March 26th) for Round 3.

As in the previous weeks, you will only be able to vote once. If you refresh your page or return later, you will see your votes marked. You may change your votes, but submitting the same votes will not cause your votes to be counted multiple times.

Good luck to all the detectives.

I don't know, I feel as if Sherlock Holmes may have needed to be exempt...

Oh no, no one's exempt or we couldn't call it the "World's Favorite." Can the new order hold their own with detectives of the past??? Or likewise, are the detectives of the past still relevant to the readers of today?

Jen, I still think this is a good idea, but...That was really tough. I feel like I betrayed an old friend or two.

I'm surprised and happy that I at least knew who almost each detective was, so I made educated votes! But what happened to Lincoln Perry? How far did he make it?

I feel bad to have voted against Sherlock Holmes...heavy sigh!

This is so much more fun than NCAA basketball!

As a former detective, Harry is the best, hands down.

I actually didn't find that round too tough, choice-wise. Only a couple were close decisions. The one I was really dreading in this round was Bosch vs Tom Thorne (thinking it was way too early for them to be meeting up, in the round of 16), and that didn't even eventuate thanks to Banks- so relatively simple choices for me...

Is there a way to see what the results were for previous rounds?

Jen Forbus March 22, 2010 at 6:08 PM

George! Where were you? Lincoln needed you in Round 1. He didn't make it to Round 2!

Craig, these choice were pretty easy for me as well, but the results for most of these are very close, so the outcomes are going to be interesting!

I'll try to do a post later this week that has the results from Rounds 1 and 2, so you can see how everyone faired.

Be it known that, if this comes down to Harry vs. Elvis, I shall simply have to abstain.

#8 was not fair at all. They are two of my all tim favourites. It hurt to have to choose just one of them.
