Round 2 - Let's Vote!

Here it is, Round 2 voting for the "World's Favorite Detective" tournament. This will be an interesting Round as we have difficult match-ups. As I mentioned yesterday, a number of the contests in Round 1 literally came down to a matter of a few votes. So, rally all your friends and family to support your favorite detectives this week.

Choose your favorite detective in each pairing and then click "Finish Survey" at the very bottom of the form. Please note: if you refresh or return to this page, you will see your votes back. This will allow you to change your votes if you want, but it will not submit your votes multiple times.

Well that was fun!

Elle Hatcher vs. Dave Robicheaux!!! You're going to start a fight in that family, Jen ;-). This was fun, again. Thanks.

Ceepak up against Sam Spade, eh? Even I'm torn on that one, sweetheart. This is fun. We're going to do a sleuth off at Malice again this year...I may crib from you!

Burke vs Burke! That's an interesting turn of events! I'm still sad from two of my favorite PI's being matched against each other in the first round. Warshawski vs Milhone.

Some tough matchups again, and some interesting ones. Other than the Robicheaux/Hatcher one mentioned above (interesting connection, but easy decision, IMHO), there's the Jesse Stone vs Spenser pairing as well - two detectives from the same author.

This sure is a lot of fun, though like Anonymous said, it's sad a few great detectives have already fallen by the wayside due to tough match-ups. No doubt a few more will this round too. It's going to get real fun...

I can't believe Spenser and Jesse Stone are going head to head!

Thorne v Banks is the one killing me.

Alafair Burke March 19, 2010 at 11:58 AM

Robicheaux v. Hatcher is MEAN, Jen! To my girl's credit, I will say she'd crack a case faster and would totally drink him under the table :-)

Jen Forbus March 19, 2010 at 12:16 PM

I know, Alafair, I'm terrible. Ellie got a wild card slot and that's how she ended up where she was. *sigh* She's actually fairing pretty well against Dave!

On the bright side, one Burke will DEFINITELY make it to Round 3! ;-)

Why has Roy Grace been left out?

Jen Forbus March 19, 2010 at 4:30 PM

All detectives in the tournament were the top vote-getters in the nomination period of the tournament. There were over 200 detectives nominated, the 64 with the most nominations were included. We are now down to the top 32 after Round 1 eliminated half.

Roy Grace was not among the detectives nominated.
