A Time to Give Thanks

I have more recommendation posts to share with you, but we're taking a little hiatus, so I can do my Thanksgiving post and then tomorrow I have a new Five on Friday. Sorry for my lapse last week. I promise I will have a fun new entry in the series tomorrow!

But today is Thanksgiving in the United States. And I always like to do a post in recognition of that because the book community has given me much to be thankful for.

This year has brought a lot of change for me and it's been welcome and wonderful change. I'm working in a capacity that allows me to be closer to the book industry than ever before...and I get to say home with my furry critters. Who could ask for more?

Blogging has also brought me many, many friends I could never have known otherwise. What a gift. That was something I never expected when I started this thing. January will mark five years of Jen's Book Thoughts, and oh my goodness the wonderful and amazing people I've encountered; many I am now honored to call my friends.

I wish I could mention everyone by name, but I know I'd leave someone out--what do you expect from a woman who regularly leaves the house and forgets the car keys? I'd forget my head if it weren't permanently attached to my shoulders. I'm pretty good at not forgetting my books, but I think that's because I keep one everywhere for just in case. Kind of like my dad who needs reading glasses now. I think there is a pair in every room in their house and probably all over his office at work as well! I've digressed, haven't I?

Anyway...I'm sending you all thanks and admiration this holiday. Fellow readers, fellow bloggers, authors, publicists, publishers, editors...I am thankful for you all!
