Ideas for Your Younger Readers

I hope you're taking away some good ideas about new authors and books for the readers on your holiday list this year. Today's recommendations come from one of the cutest readers I know and she has two books for your young adults that enjoyed THE HUNGER GAMES.

May I introduce Mrs. Dalloway!

I'm 14 (in dog years) so it's no surprise that I love THE HUNGER GAMES! If you're like me, you devoured the trilogy in a single weekend and soon needed more YA thrillers to sate your cravings. Here are a couple I'd recommend:

FALSE MEMORY by Dan Krokos opens with a girl in a mall who has no memory of who she is or how she got there. She learns that she can insight mass panic, just by using her mind, and later discovers that she was created to serve as a weapon in the military.

STARTERS by Lissa Price is set in a world where there are only teenagers (Starters) and elders (Enders). Everyone between the ages of 20 and 60 have been wiped out. Callie is on the run with her little brother Tyler and her friend Michael, desperate to survive. Her only hope to earn money and support them is Prime Destinations, a company that hires teens to rent their bodies out to Enders. But when the neurochip malfunctions and Callie returns to her body too soon, she learns that her renter had planned to do more than enjoy being young again.

Mrs. Dalloway handles greeting and morale boosting at Kaye Publicity. When she's not in the office, she enjoys steak dinners and long runs on the beach. Visit her online at www.kayepublicity.com or doseofdally.tumblr.com

Oh, I can see why Mrs. Dalloway is a favorite. She's gorgeous! So, Happy Thanksgiving to Dana, Mrs. Dalloway, and, of course, you, Jen. May you all have happy reading!
